New York Immigration Attorneys

The field of immigration law in the United States is intricate and continually evolving, especially when there is a change in administration such as after a presidential election. Immigration can be a confusing patchwork of laws and regulations.

At Mazzei & Polk, LLC, we treat each client with the attention they deserve to help navigate the process. We take our time to carefully listen in order to better understand all the factors that make each case unique. Our lawyers then aim to craft custom-designed legal strategies tailored to each client’s individual circumstances.

Whether you are married, engaged to be married, have a family member who is a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident ("Green Card" holder) who wishes to petition (sponsor) you, or are arrested and have questions about your legal status, our objective is to offer personalized, empathetic solutions for these sensitive and frequently life-altering immigration matters.

Contact our New York immigration lawyers at (516) 461-3148 to discuss your case. We serve clients throughout Nassau County and beyond.

How Our Immigration Lawyers Can Help

We work with clients on a wide range of immigration issues, including:

  • Family and marriage-based petitions. Since opening our doors for business at Mazzei & Polk, LLC, we have been working with U.S. Citizens and Legal Permanent Residents ("Green Card" Holders) who want to sponsor/petition for their family members to immigrate to the United States. In fact, family immigration via Form I-130 is the focus of our immigration practice, with marriage petitions at the forefront.
  • Fiancé visas. We help U.S. citizens bring their foreign fiancé to the U.S. to get married. From navigating the K-1 visa process via Form I-129F to filing for adjustment of status after marriage within the required time frame via Form I-485, we can help.
  • Adjustment of status. The process of Adjustment of Status via Form I-485 is very intricate and detailed, particularly as it pertains to Form I-864, which must be filed correctly. We help ensure all necessary documentation is accurately filed to facilitate this important step.
  • Consular processing. When a family member is petitioned for by a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident ("Green Card" Holder) and the applicant is located outside of the United States, consular processing becomes necessary. This is often a time-consuming, confusing process involving technology that is not always user-friendly. We can help.
  • "Green Card" renewals and removal of conditions. Mazzei & Polk, LLC can help immigrants renew their "Green Cards" via Form I-90 petitions and remove conditions on a temporary (two-year conditional "Green Card") via Form I-751 petitions.
  • Naturalization and citizenship. After a certain period has passed, if specific criteria are met, you may be eligible to become a naturalized United States citizen. The application process and eligibility can be unique to each person, for reasons including, but not limited to, criminal history, organizational involvement, time spent as a legal permanent resident, and marital status.
